KNZB makes known limits ONK Short Course (update)
Today appeared on the site of the KNZB the message that the limits for the Dutch Open Short Course Championships are known. This competition, during the Christmas weekend (3-5 December) held at the Sloterparkbad in Amsterdam, falls on the international calendar in between 2 major competitions. From 25 to 29 November in Eindhoven, the Short Course Championships and instead of 9 to 15 December in the Dubai World Short Course swimming. Or so many toppers in Amsterdam are expected to be in another question, but on the other hand, possible that the opportunity to experience youth talents to do in the swimming finals.
In the message on the site KNZB is further reported that the ONK limits again based on the MSS tables. Now the new tables according to the guidelines recently announced in September and so the limits are based on the MSS tables in February 2010. Whether this means that the limits for the ONK 2011 will be faster so it will only become clear in a month.
In addition to the limits for able-bodied athletes, there are also limits announced for the disabled. Like last summer NK is the program for them integrated into that of the able-bodied swimmers. For both parties can have a positive effect, because for the disabled, this means that their sport receives more attention and for the able-bodied athletes that they are among the programs will have a little more rest. The latter will in some programs are sorely needed, because unlike the ONK last summer, nothing is mentioned about any location via a ranking. For now we therefore assume that this will not occur in the coming ONK Short Course.

Provisions ONK Short Course 2010
Note: The above files are coming from the site of the KNZB. The note in the margin in the state as such provisions in the file on the KNZB site. Apparently it was not yet come to their processing. Furthermore there are 2 conflicting rules regarding whether or not to continue a B final:
- B-finals will be swum only when processing the cancellations after 4 or more B-finalists.
- B-finals will be swum only if more than 2 B-finalists.
This we will just ask the KNZB and add if it is clear.
UPDATE 09/01/2010: The provisions are textually adapted.
It is now clear that at least 3 B-finalists a B final event will be:
B-finals will be swum only if more than 2 B-finalists.
Furthermore, the text on the medals changed to:
The first three participants all-in (Dutch and foreign participants) received a gold respectively. ONK silver or bronze medal. Also receive the first three youth participants (Dutch and foreign participants) or a gold. silver or bronze medal ONK youth.
It now seems clear that even with the youth only 1 set of gold-silver-bronze is distributed regardless of the presence of foreign swimmers in the top-3. With strong occupancy from abroad, the Dutch youth thus fall outside the medals.

What also stands out in the provisions is that this time only ONK medals are going to these foreigners. There are just as during the ONK in Eindhoven last season, so no separate NK medals handed out to the first three Dutch swimmers. With the difference that during the ONK in Eindhoven was not present in the rules.
During this ONK short course will be not so many foreigners at the start, but it seems not a good thing that the first three Dutch do not automatically receive a medal. Continuing to do the Dutch championships!
The provisions I have read that this only applies to the ALL-IN prices, not for the youth medals. It seems that the youth have separate medals for Dutch and foreign swimmers. Moreover, I am the one Niels agree that it is strange that foreigners in a Dutch state championship.
If I'm not mistaken, this is solved in America by the A-final only to supplement American swimmers, swimmers may only foreign places for B (and C) finals. And since the medals distributed among the swimmers from the A-final that automatically means that the American swimmers.
Disadvantages of this system as that in the Netherlands would be introduced is that any strong swimmers from abroad is no incentive for Dutch swimmers may be in the A final. And how do we deal with the system of the fastest heat during the final program? Foreign swimmers may therefore not swim in the series?
When ONK 2010 was still in the provisions that there were medals for Dutch. A youth of our swimmer was 2nd and 3rd all-in Dutch (Martin that includes foreigners). We have the KNZB pointed out the provisions and finally sent the medal!
The KNZB therefore certainly still medals given for the ONK Dutch during 2010, but no publicized!
Everyone has had his medal?
I am equally free to accept the response from Rick on this topic on swimming to chronicle places, because I think it very well into words the feeling of many club trainers. It is nice that the RTCs and NTCs the fastest swimmers want to train stops, but without fish in the pond catch you soon nothing more .....

No more medals for Dutch ONK on ...
Or ... why is the Champion of the Netherlands under the Dutch Champion KNZB no.
In a discussion here on the Swimming Forum Chronicle under the title "Medal ceremony ONK" I have already said what I thought of the plan that there would be no medals for the Dutch ONK. Apparently no interesting discussion, because any reaction. In 2010, the ONK KNZB the provision is not modified. Although the competition itself had no medals, which are afterwards sent it to medal winners (at least to my club).
For the Short Course ONK 2010 is also adapted the rules which it is clear that the Dutch top 3 no medals anymore.
Summary of objectives club swimmers who have been deprived:
[1] Obtaining NK limit.
Limits are much sharper, which part of the club swimmers they could not get
[2] NK Obtaining final.
One NK are quick to 5 foreign finalists, the other NK 0. It is impossible for an NK place to convert it into a target time.
[3] NK Achievement Medal.
As in [2], as many foreigners are fast (sometimes Olympic medalists), then this goal unrealistic on many occasions that there is hardly foreign interest.
It is therefore impossible to determine in advance goals other than improving yourself in comparison to yourself. The ONK has turned into a game as everyone else.
The effect I see on the club. A lot of swimmers put off. For me as a coach, so there is no decent season to learning more about.
I understand the KNZB not. For talents towards international tournaments, there are wonderful plans and goals. But for the dropouts is deprived of all targets. It seems that the KNZB wants to get rid of the swim club.
The funny thing is that the KNZB like to have me as a coach talents well and motivated to lead ga. But they forget that I must catch the dropouts and they themselves get only the successful cases.
I sincerely hope that the Dutch ONK medals for returning!
Please reply!

PS Hopefully the Dutch Records still reserved for the Dutch and is not replaced by Dutch records in swimming competitions.
B-finals will be swum only if more than 2 B-finalists.
Contrary to the conclusion that in the play by Martin pulled Does this mean I think that only when a B 3 B finalists is final. There is clearly more than 2 ...
@ Marielle: you're right, type flaw upgraded to '3 B-finalists'
