There has in recent years a lot said and written about the influence of the suits on performance in the water. Records in swimming suits the next 10 years would not be improved and swimming would struggle to remain interesting to the public. Meanwhile, in America was the first big races (the Nationals) and currently the European Championships in full swing. Until now no world records and is expected to remain so. Camille Lacourt came in the 50m backstroke at the closest with 24.07, only 0.03 above the world of Liam Tancock of the World Championships in Rome last year. By that time of 24.07 was Camille is 0.73 (!) Faster than the world record of 1 January 2008, when still in the name of Thomas Rupprath. And even if we long pants yet to tackle fast to count, he was faster than the approx 24.33 Randall Bal in December 2008 when the Dutch Swim Cup in Eindhoven.

Also in the 100m backstroke with 52.11 Lacourt was very close to the world of Aaron Peirsol came. Aaron swam in July 2009 in Indianapolis in long trousers to 51.94. Before he and Aschwin Wildeboer Peirsol of the world record of 52.98 from 1 January 2008 all adjusted to 52.38, with Aschwin used a full suit. Lacourt can therefore legitimately call the fastest man in the water on the backstroke.

The clearance is another story. There is the 100m time of Pieter van den Hoogenband (47.84 of the Olympic Games in Sydney 2000) is still the fastest ever swum without 'quick' suit. It is also noted that Peter has made use of pants, though the Fastskin not compare with the suits like those worn in 2008 and 2009.

Brings us to the 50m freestyle and the title of 'Fastest man in the water.
Until recently, the title undoubtedly the name of Alexander Popov, who, like Peter's 21.64 8 years the world in his hands. He swam his time in 2000 in Moscow with the Russian qualifiers and only in February 2008 did Eamon Sullivan in a LZR there hiding. Then it went hard and stopped the clock until 20.91 at Cesar Cielo in December 2009 in Sao Paulo. Previously, Frederick Bousquet who was the first man under 21 seconds was hiding. In April 2009 he Montpellier 20.94 on the clock to put in his red Jaked .

Now in 2010 and without the fast suits we come back near Popov. On June 28 last was Cesar Cielo in Paris the title 'Fastest man in the water' definitely knew how to put on his name. With 21.55 knew he was the first man in a swimsuit under Popov's record for diving and he now has both get and set the fastest time without suit to his name. But maybe not for long .... Because in the series of 50m freestyle at the European Championships in Boedepest Frederick Bousquet 21.65 this morning put on the clock. with 2 more chances to go (half and full-finals) 1/10 he has no need to again get the fastest time to put down and Cielo depriving the title of 'Fastest man in the water.
