Short Course Championships final in Eindhoven!
Nieuwegein, The Royal Dutch Swimming Association announced today a final commitment from the European Swimming Federation (LEN) on organizing the Short Course Championships. The swim will be from 25 to 28 November held in the Pieter van den Hoogenband Swimming Stadium in Eindhoven. Some time there was uncertainty about the continuation of the event.
The KNZB is very happy with the final award of the event. Last year the Dutch swimming team with 10 gold medals at the highly successful Short Course Championships in Istanbul. Inge Dekker and Hinkelien Schreuder were individually and in relays each for five golds. They can defend their titles for their own audience.
The Swimcup Eindhoven this year to make way for the Short Course Championships. The organization will thus largely in the hands of the National Swimming Institute of Eindhoven (UR), where, among others, Marleen Veldhuis and Ranomi Kromowidjojo train. Paul van den Heuvel was appointed as tournament director. He is deputy director of the KNZB and was closely involved in the European Championships in 2008.

After the 2008 European Championships in swimming and water polo at the 2012 European Championship is once again a top event on the Eindhoven agenda.
