These blocks will be launched in all major swimming events will be used and should deliver significant time advantage. The Amsterdam Swim Cup 2010, while the scoop. The blocks are at the Amsterdam Swim Cup for the first time in competition in The Netherlands.
The starting blocks offer swimmers a better outlet. They have a slanting athletic in the market which is usual, the swimmers and the end closer to bring faster times. The starting blocks were taboo during the 2008 Olympics and world championships in Rome last summer.

Why should it take off and swimsuits are not performance enhancing?
Good question which I can not answer.
Ultimately it comes down to is that I think it is very subjective and what FINA does not allow.
But that is all rule changes.
Biggest problem I find the availability of these blocks. Because I do not expect this (probably expensive) blocks quickly everywhere will come to stand. So the swimmers of the clubs where they are or are at a considerable advantage.
And for those who already have started on: the bevel off as well? Ie Can I imagine that if you step off an old block perfected it, you're not at the next big game wants to take an immediate risk to the rim and a possible start ruined .....
Moreover, there is still a very obvious reason why postief is that the starting blocks are replaced in Amsterdam, the sharp edges.
The old starting blocks were quite sharp edges and so there were often people who have their feet or hands it took to open. Fortunately, that has past.
1. The usefulness of the blocks faster escapes me entirely, but I see major differences in the performance enhancement by swimsuits. For a block, it is easy to determine whether or not within the rules and it is also clear that everyone under the same conditions to start. When suits you never know what exactly someone has / had and what its impact on that person for that distance is. Times and compare records is therefore absolutely impossible.
2. The availability problem is annoying, but unavoidable if you want rules for starting blocks to fit. In this respect, each new block is now placed a step in the right direction. That some have more opportunities to practice than others not only for starting blocks, but also for all other training opportunities.
3. Question for fellow trainers: Swimmers start with an old fashioned grip will now also have to switch to the track start (theorem). But what do we do with the relay take-overs?
What makes the FINA with ISU? Look at new suits in speed skating but look certainly be introduced to the skate which was developed in the eighties and nineties became fully operational in the world. It is not about the swimsuits discussion to rake but to indicate how within 1 tied with 2 sizes measured (blocks versus swimsuits) and within the world of sports varies considerably with performance-enhancing tools (Fina vs. ISU).
@ Joeri ==> if there would be no advantage of these new blocks why they put them (and not the sharp edge in Amsterdam) and gives you a lot of money from? I also disagree with your assertion that you never know exactly what someone has had. The rules for 01/01/2010 were still clear, you were there disagree but I think they were so well balanced and equal opportunities for everyone.
@ Ronald: I do not think I said that the new blocks is no speed advantage. The benefit is for everyone, and always the same. Suppose the 0.2s yields. What we ar to make everyone 0.2s faster at all distances? Swimming is so fun?
With all these different swimsuits, nobody knows what the time savings and whether it per person, per distance and per day varies. On some results seemed to address last year several seconds to deliver time savings, while some other time earnings results seemed much smaller. This time were much less value.
And that is exactly the difference with skating. Skating times are completely irrelevant. World records fall in droves and are mainly determined by the skating rink, skating and tackle. Many mediocre skaters skating world records. The swim was very long so that only world records for the real world were toppers. The greatness of a swimmer could be measured by the amount of records and the number of years of swimming needed to break that again. In recent years came to an end.
@ Martin, and the upstanding wall can not come off. Well you can slide it all the way back (Position 5) so you still have enough room for a normal track starts to run. At least as much space as normal white blocks as eg in Alkmaar.
