Robin Aggele

We had yesterday indicated that a medal should be possible for Robin van Aggele the 100m breaststroke, but that he would grab the title in a new European record time, probably no one dared to predict. In a race where Robin went fastest on the first 50m (26.34 he swam with a new championship record in the first 50m) managed to hold his lead until the finish and he set a new European record of 56.29 on the bells. Of course, that time is also good for a Dutch record, because that was yesterday at 57.50. Daniel Gyurta from Hungary finished second in 56.72 behind as Robin, still under its old European record of 56.79 swum in the semifinals yesterday.

The reaction of Robin after his race had to guess:

Or on the official site of the European championships: Interview with Robin

Robin van Aggele Almost immediately after the 100m breaststroke Robin was the 100m freestyle final of the women's turn. It stood in the middle two Dutch women's jobs at the start, Ranomi Kromowidjojo and Inge Dekker . After 50m was Ranomi with 24.67 just for Inge returned (24.69) but in the second part of the race it was Inge just something about him. At the finish was ahead 0.02 of Ranomi turned into a deficit of 0.09 and so it was Inge who claimed the title for himself. Inge took a time of 51.35 on the clock and thus took over the Dutch record of Ranomi , who now had to settle for the silver in 51.44. The number 3, Jaenette Ottesen followed proper distance in 52.18.

Interview with Inge

Earlier, Inge Dekker also already qualified for the finals of the 50m butterfly. By 25.09 she swam the fastest time in the semifinals and improved with it the championship record of Hinkelien this morning with 0.04 seconds. Hinkelien came in the semifinals with a fright, as she placed 10th and will last for the finals tomorrow with 25.80. The margin with the number 11 was just over 2 tenths.

Nick Driebergen knew his performance yesterday in the relay not to repeat the individual 50m backstroke. He placed this morning still for the semifinals this afternoon, but he remained with 24.07 it far away from the finals. In order to rally in the top 10 and so again tomorrow at the start to appear was 23.69 required.

Joeri Verlinden finite with the 49.88 just missed the podium in the 100m butterfly. After a 7th time at 50m knew he was in the 2nd 50m still to work until 4, but instead he came 0.09 deficit for the bronze. In his time he was just 0.02 above his own Dutch record of the semi-finals yesterday. Evgeny Korotyshkin from Russia took the title in 48.93, a new championship record, but still a half seconds off his own world record of 48.48.

  1. Are now no longer the only 2 people from 1 country to conquer the first place, as did the Russians in 100 back with a new world record of 48.97!!

  2. Maybe someone can help me with images of the final ceremony of the 100 m breaststroke Robin.
    everything is welcome.

    Sincerely,

    Fred Aggele
