European Records Aschwin Wildeboer and Caraballo Alvarez
While in Amsterdam, hard swimming, lying in the rest of the world does not stand still. There are currently too Spanish Short Course Championships which both Caraballo Alvarez as Aschwin Wildeboer a European record managed to put down. Alvarez swam the 200m breaststroke to 02/03/46 and the 02/04/59 plunged well below that Hugues Duboscq's put down in december.
If a swimmer starts 4x50wisselslag relay Aschwin knew to come to 23.12, which is just 0.02 under his own record also from Reijka. World records at both distances are in the name of Ed Moses in 2.2.92 (2004) and Randall Bal in 22.87 (2008).
In South Africa the qualifiers for the World Cup there were already too busy and stop times are recorded. Thus came to Roland Schoeman 48.61 in the semifinals of the 100m free, followed closely by Lyndon Ferns and Darian Townsend in 48.70 in 48.79. The latter also swam the semifinals of the 200wissel and managed them as fastest for the final in 1.58.33.
